Case Studies
Detailed clinical case studies from my equine osteopathy practice, shared for owners and fellow professionals who want to understand the reasoning behind a whole-horse assessment.
Each case distinguishes between clinical observation, osteopathic working hypotheses, confirmed veterinary findings and reported outcomes. These studies are educational records of individual horses, not promises that another horse will respond in the same way.
Case Study 01: Cody
Headshaking, cranio-cervical restriction and whole-body compensation
16-year-old Quarter Horse | Two sessions | August–September 2026
A detailed longitudinal case exploring a three-year history of seasonal headshaking, possible trigeminal involvement, previous trauma, cranial and cervical restrictions, layered thoracic and pelvic compensation, concurrent veterinary treatment and the marked change reported between Cody’s first and second assessments.
The full study includes Cody’s history and veterinary investigations, regional findings from both sessions, the reasoning behind the compensatory patterns, treatment progression, owner-reported outcomes, clinical limitations and labelled before-and-after photographs.
